 Sunrise on Pensacola Beach this morning. I'm working out this photography/basketball analogy. It's not quite complete but this shot is an example of part of it. There are some shots that are like free throws. Everything is set up for you. You just stand where you're supposed to stand. Take your time. Focus. Execute. The more you prepare and the better you know your gear the easier it becomes. You may miss the shot occasionally but you should at least be shooting 80%. Sunrise and sunset are usually free throws. If executed properly, it usually looks pretty. If you can find something interesting to put with the sun, it usually looks better. This is in no way a criticism of the free throw. Hitting them is a big part of the game and may add up to more wins. Yesterday I mentioned my obsession with birds and this morning I was given dozens to shoot. About 20 to 30 pelicans and more seagulls than I could count were feasting on fish near the pier. You'll be seeing a lot of feathers in the next few days.
