![]() The Rex Theater in downtown Pensacola. It seems most small towns have a Rex or a Roxy or whatever the name happened to be. Some of the defunct movie houses get renovated and turned into clubs or small theaters. Others, like the Rex, just sit and waste away. There's been talk of fixing it up for a few years but I haven't seen any movement. The Saenger Theater is undergoing a huge renovation right now and maybe one revived theater is enough for this town. The Rex wasn't really that grand even in it's heyday. The building started as a furniture store and was converted into a second run movie house later on. Still something cool about that sign though.
