![]() Florida Caverns State Park series. These little waterlogged stump things were all over the place around the swamps and streams. Not usually grouped like this though. J2 dubbed them "Ogre Toes" and her story was that these creatures once roamed the swamp but they all died off for mysterious reasons. They were buried in the swamp and all you could see sticking up from the ground were their toes. Some were covered with moss which made for hairy, green ogre toes. So gross yet so awesome. We came across this dreamy stream with green everywhere including these bright green, lily pad like plants floating in the water. The plants and the reflections made the water glow. And wouldn't you know, right next to the water there was a group of ogre toes. Perfect. I've put up some more shots from this trip on Shutterfly. Mostly snap shots but take a look if you want to see more. Butlers in Florida Caverns '08. Just click the "View Pictures" button.
