![]() Pensacola Beach skyline at night. Who knew we had a skyline? Experimenting a bit with long lens, long exposure. About 60 seconds and a long way away. More music. I had big plans for this post. I was going to let the world know about these amazing but unknown artists I had just discovered. I loved them at first listen and I wanted to share. But alas, Oscar beat me to it. J1 and I watched a very cool movie Saturday night called 'Once' starring two incredible musicians. Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. The music was wonderful and after the movie was over, I watched all the extras to find out more about them. Then I hopped on iTunes and bought the soundtrack and a live album by Glen's band The Frames. I actually planned on writing about the movie and the music on the blog to let people know to check it out. Then I was upstaged by a little gold statue. The movie and discovery happened Saturday night. The Oscars were Sunday night and guess who won best original song for a motion picture. Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova for 'Falling Slowly' from 'Once'. Turns out more people watch the Oscars than read my blog so it looks like they'll get the credit for exposing the world to this music. But I'm still trying to do my little part so I decided to write about it anyway. I really think you'll enjoy it if it's the kind of thing you enjoy. :-) Check It Out on iTunes: "Once" Posted by blbutler on February 26th, 2008 Archived under: Night / Long Exposure, Color |
