![]() Last Sunday I rode my bike out to Ft. Pickens on the National Seashore. It's a pretty cool place with a little bit of history, so check the link if you want to know more about it. The road out to the fort is still closed to cars because of hurricane damage so you can only get there by walking, biking or boating. It's a 14 mile round trip from the gate on Pensacola Beach. Mostly paved but with a mile long break at one point where I had to push my bike through the sand. (not fun) There are a couple of smaller breaks but they're not as bad. It was a bit of work to get out there but it was worth it. I spent a good 3 hours walking around inside of and on top of the fort and then I walked out to the point. I was out on the beach for sundown with not another soul in sight. Pretty cool. Needless to say, I took a few pictures. This one is from inside one section the fort. The outside is not much to look at but the inside is full of character. Check It Out: Sisters got a Photofriday Noteworthy for 'Sister'. Thanks much.
