 There are these special times, just after sunset, when the sky 'Blows Up'. That's what I call it anyway. The sun dips below the horizon and if the clouds are just right, you get something like this. It only lasts for a few minutes and then it's gone. If the clouds extend too far past the horizon, the light gets blocked. If the clouds are too thin, there's nothing for the light to bounce off of. Shooting around water adds something special. I'm always checking the sky in the afternoon to see if there's a chance. I say all that to say this. My brother and his family have been in town visiting for a few days, staying out at the beach. We had a great time with them. We all went for a walk around sunset a couple of days ago and as we were walking, my lovely wife looks at the sky and says, 'Ohhh Brian. Looks like it may Blow Up.' Do you know what that means? She actually listens to me when I talk, even if I'm just rambling on about my little hobby. She's amazing. Maybe I should try this listening thing.
